My wife and I rented electric bikes for a day and had a great time. Bikes worked pretty well, though they definitely struggled hauling me up some of the steeper hills (which is as much my fault as the bikes). Would highly recommend, it was great for biking across the golden gate and around the Presidio.
This was a fun experience. The only bad part was timing. We had somewhere to be at 3:30. I bought 3 ferry tickets, but should have asked for the schedule in advance. We also didn't ask where the ferry station was. We got a bit lost and had to ride back b/c once we found the place, it was a while before it left and we wouldn't make it. Crossing the Golden Gate was a bit nerve wracking. Overall, I did enjoy it, but could've saved money if I had planned better. Also, it was about a 12 mile bike ride there and back. Energy, fitness and strength wise I was fine. I discovered there are bones in my butt that a week later still hurt. Fair warning.
Very fun to ride around the city and so much more convenient than the bus! Getting the bikes took no time at all and the staff were friendly and helpful. First day we rode through presidio park to Marshalls Beach, Ocean Beach, Golden Gate Park and the famous wiggle to the mission. We called to extend our reservation which was super quick and easy to do and the next day rode across Golden Gate Bridge to the Marin headlands. The bikes were perfect for the riding we wanted to do and fit well. Returning was quick and easy. I’d recommend getting a city hybrid bike as they have a larger gear range for the hills.
I and my girl friend reserved golden gate bikes for Saturday. Unfortunately, the weather prediction reports it will be a rainy day. I make a phone call to cancel my reservation. The service is quick and straight. He told me that I am all set and refund my money in less than 10 sec.
It’s that quick. I like it a lot.😃
I will definitely choose this rental bike the next time.
Pretty pricey for bad bikes. The bikes were very hard (exhaustive) to drive and in a bad shape. The bell was not working and used. The grips were sticky and beyond used. And the staff was not friendly. All in all not a nice experience and we regret the rental.
Yesterday, my husband and I rented E bikes from Golden Gate Bridge bike rentals! They were located directly across from our hotel, so we thought it was natural to rent from them. We rented reserved and paid online before we arrived. That process was easy. We arrived between 9 and 10 AM and there was a little lineup of people waiting to get on their bikes. One young fellow was running the whole show. He did an amazing job of getting people’s info and getting them going on their bikes. we were very impressed with our E bikes. They were in good condition, and my husband noticed that the young fellow really did give the bikes a once over before he gave them to the customers. Our bikes were in great shape and the batteries held all day.
We would definitely rent from them again.
We hired two e-bikes and made it all the way to Tiburon and back to downtown via the ferry with plenty of battery to spare. The guys setting up the bikes were excellent and accommodated finding the right size and model for us. A highlight of our visit to SF!
A nice variety of bikes for any sized family and a wide array of sizes and options. Our family of 6 had no issues choosing a bike for each person. We biked across the Golden Gate Bridge to Saucilito and took the ferry back across. We will do this again!
